Bruce Dickinson and his great band have successfully kicked off their big headlining tour 2024, bringing the songs from his critically acclaimed seventh solo album „The Mandrake Project“ (#1 in Germany and Sweden & many other top 5 EU chart positions) to life across Europe. To warm up, they had already made a phenomenal live start in April at none other than the legendary Whisky a Go Go in Los Angeles.
The live band now consists of two guitarists – Philip Naslund and Chris Declercq – as well as drummer Dave Moreno, bassist Tanya O’Callaghan and keyboard maestro Mistheria, and the press reviews of the first UK shows are full of praise for the high-energy performances and the outstanding quality of the shows.
The Guardian, for example, praises Bruce’s abilities as an „extraordinarily charismatic performer“ and his „rousing and driving“ voice as well as „his celebrated band“. And this euphoria is not only shared by the audience – fans and critics alike – but also by Bruce Dickinson and the whole band, as he emphasizes:
„It’s been 15 shows since we started the tour at the Whisky in LA, and we’re more than dialed in as a band! We’ve added a few extra tracks and people are totally freaking out about it. It’s really interesting with the audience – you can feel that the reactions are just ‚WOW‘! They appreciate the band and this music as an excuse for virtuosos to let off steam and show off. We have a blast on stage, and the whole idea was to give everyone space to be themselves. We rehearsed for two weeks, but after five days I thought to myself: ‚We should play a gig now‘. And we love it, every night!“
Sounds like this is definitely nothing less than a tour for the history books!
